CreateAbility Concepts, Inc. was founded by Steve Sutter in 2001, but Steve’s passion for helping people with special needs was sparked well before. Since 1984, he has been serving the special needs community in both state and local groups, including working as a volunteer and organizer for the Special Olympics.
Even while working as an application engineer at Hewlett Packard (HP), traveling and working through Asia and Europe, he understood that his heart was elsewhere. When he suddenly felt called, he quit his job so that he could launch a business focused on using technology to support people with special needs to thrive wherever they are.
The passion that Steve had more than 20 years ago is still active in his company and takes form in their goal to help thousands of people worldwide with CreateAbility’s products. Today, Steve and his team have crafted CreateAbility into an organization that combines considerable technical expertise with a strong desire to “create ability” for seniors aging-in-place and people with special needs.
Because of their creative and innovative approach to applying technology to disabilities, CreateAbility has been the recipient of multiple grants by the Federal Government, universities and foundations. You can read about their research here.
CreateAbility donates over 10% of profits each year to local, national and third-world organizations such as: Feed the Hungry, The Muscular Dystrophy Family Foundation, Circle City Relief, JANUS Developmental Services, and music ministries.
Steve has personally helped hundreds of people and CreateAbility has been able to improve the lives of thousands. Contact Steve and his team to see how they can “Create Ability” for you and those you care for.
